Kloster Eberbach is a former Cistercian monastery on the east bank of the Rhine River. It was one of the largest and most active monasteries in Germany. At the Easter egg market, there were 80 vendors from 10 different countries. Amazing what they can do with eggs. We forgot to charge our camera battery, so it died after just a few pictures, but we later remembered the camera on the phone, so we got a few more pics.
We got front-row seats on the upper level of the double-decker bus
The beautiful eggs we bought. On the blue one, there are tiny holes amidst the design that you can see if you click on the picture to enlarge it.
Niederwald Monument overlooks the Rhine Valley. Finished in 1883, the monument was constructed to commemorate the founding of the German Empire after the end of the Franco-Prussian War.
Above and below: Views of the Rhine Valley from Niederwald Monument. Note the vineyards on the hillside. The vineyards are everywhere in the region.
